Few words about me:
Dr. Eldow received his B.Sc and M.Sc in computer science from University of Khartoum in 1989, 1995, and his PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence from Putra University, Malaysia in 1999.
Since 1990, when he was teaching assistant at University of Khartoum, he has
constantly been involved in teaching and have always enjoyed the support and
appreciation of his students. Dr. Eldow taught over 30 different courses in
computing disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate. Furthermore,
he was also involved in the supervision of 9 PhD candidates and 3 MSc students to date while simultaneously pursuing his own research. Currently,
Dr. Eldow is working as a member of editorial board of many international journals
and as member of program committee for many refereed conferences in computing
science. He is also a Member of ACM: Association for Computing Machinery, IEEE Computer Society, AAAI: Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence,
ACM SIG on Artificial Intelligence, ACM SIG on Knowledge Discovery in Data,
International Steering Committee of Arabic Computer Society, and International
Rough Sets Society.
Within the broad field of computer science, he has specialized in data mining and
machine learning. He focused his early interests in the field of hybrid
intelligent systems. He has involved in many research projects with his students
and his colleagues, so that his research interests have been extended to include
rough sets theory, expert systems, neural networks, data mining, text mining,
natural language processing, and intelligent retrieval systems.
Dr. Eldow has worked as principal investigator for 5 research projects and as
co-investigator for 3 research projects funded from different organizations.
He has published over 35 articles in international journals and proceedings. In
2007, Dr. Eldow received TWAS award for young scientists in developing countries. Recently he feel motivated to conduct research in new and emerging fields such as social media intelligence and large-scale data analytics and mining, educational data mining, and applications of artificial intelligence in sustainability.
